Ted
Levy
Jupiter, Florida
Helaine is doing wonderfully
for the severity of her stroke. She is very active in the Stroke
of Hope organization in Florida. In fact she is on the Board
of Directors. She sleeps well. She still has a lot of pain. I, too,
am active. I dont sleep well; I feel her every pain.
I watch Helaine when she sleeps and I kiss her. It seems like we just
met because I never get tired of being with her. I am complete when
we are together. I remember all of the good times and wish I could
turn back time -- dont we all! We have made some wonderful friends
who are compassionate and giving. God sent us Guardian Angels.
We are so fortunate!
A Message to Care Partners:
Remember that you are also a patient, but without a prognosis. I hope
you are lucky enough to have family and friends for help, support
and follow through. But if you are like me, somewhat alone through
the worst of it, never give up! Things improve slowly, but they do
improve if you stay the course. But make the changes that are necessary
to your survival. Try to deal with your stress
and exhaustion in a positive way. Try any alternative method.
Do better than I did in that regard, and perhaps your health will
remain good.
If you too are a care partner, my prayer is that you and your love
will have the strength to get through these tough times. I pray that
you have faith in yourself and in God so that you will remain strong.
Only you can make things better. Change is difficult, but essential
to survival. Positive attitudes always overcome tragedy. Repeat this
again, its true. Believe that it will get better because it
will! Your strength will make it happen! I have been there and then
some! Trust my words. God Bless You!
Your Brother,
Ted
