SOH at Work
. In December '08 this gentleman no longer qualified for physical therapy after having had a massive stroke that called for a portion of his skull to be removed. He was homebound and unable to perform any tasks for himself, including the inability to stand from his wheelchair and walk.
Take a look at the progress he's made with SOH Recovery Trainers in less than 6 months! Amazing things happen when you believe...
With the client's permission,
here is a short clip of SOH at work.

An
inspirational message from one of our spiritual leaders...
"Trials
and sufferings are painful. They tax us physically and spiritually.
What happens in our trials and sufferings is a disclosure, a revelation,
of what is in us, what we are made of, what sort of integrity we
have. God asks only that we be faithful.
He cares for us accordingly and with sufficient grace. He knows
how much we need him. It is necessary that we know it too."

'Consistent effort' is personified by this beautiful and gracious lady who never misses a beat. Her belief in our mission is tangible. She gives her best in every area of the organization whether it's administrative tasks, fund raising, health fair participation, event planning or even performing live in the event itself!
She always has a kind word and a positive attitude. She gives above and beyond the call of duty on a regular basis and we are extremely grateful for all her good works, both seen and unseen.
During a BBQ, a friend stumbled and took a little fall - she assured everyone that she was fine (they offered to call paramedics) and that she had just tripped over a brick because of her new shoes. They got her cleaned up and got her a new plate of food. While she appeared a bit shaken up, Ingrid went about enjoying herself the rest of the evening. Ingrid's husband called later telling everyone that his wife had been taken to the hospital - (at 6:00 pm, Ingrid passed away.)
She had suffered a stroke at the BBQ. Had they known how to identify the signs of a stroke, perhaps Ingrid would be with us today. Some don't die. They end up in a helpless, hopeless condition instead.
Recognizing Stroke Symptoms
Thank God for the sense to remember the "3" steps, STR.
Sometimes symptoms of a stroke are difficult to identify. Unfortunately, the lack of awareness spells disaster. The stroke victim may suffer severe brain damage when people nearby fail to recognize the symptoms of a stroke. Now doctors say a bystander can recognize a stroke by asking three simple questions:
S - Ask the individual to SMILE.
T - Ask the person to TALK.
(Coherently: i.e. . . It is sunny out today)
R - Ask him or her to RAISE BOTH ARMS.
Another 'sign' of a stroke: Ask the person to 'stick' out their tongue. If the tongue is 'crooked', if it goes to one side or the other, that is also an indication of a stroke. If he or she has trouble with ANY ONE of these tasks, call 911immediately and describe the symptoms to the dispatcher.
