Andrew Williams
Chicago, IL

During my hospitalization, I underwent a cardiac catheterization which revealed diffuse disease and I actually received 4 stents in the left anterior descending, diagonal, right coronary artery in 3 places. I went home on Beta blocker, aspirin and Plavix. I was also sent home with a gastrointestinal tube placed and had a swallowing study that showed evidence of aspiration. I continue to follow up with my Neurologist, Urologist and Cardiologist on a regular basis.

I had several months of intensive rehabilitation at Warren Barr Pavilion and was sent home with the ability to feed myself and complete use of my right hand and right foot. I must admit, it was very painful to be told that I will never be able to walk again. I struggle with this ordeal every day as well as knowing that I can never do anything by myself without full assistance. However, I am very grateful that I have my wife and my daughter-in-law to help me. The doctors seem to have given up - but somehow I feel that with the right environment, motivation and hard work there is still a glimmer of hope."
